Chelate Chemistry combines two or more chemical solutions to produce a new compound with chemical properties very similar to the original chemicals.Chelate Chemistry is the process of combining two or more different chemical compounds to create a new one that has similar or identical properties as the original compound. This is similar to the old idea of 'fusing' two metals together, but now there are two metals involved and a third substance in the mix. Most commonly, the compounds used for chelate chemistry are alcohols and sugars.There are two main ways to do a chelate. The first way is to add two different alcohols or sugars to a solution, either separately or in combination. The second way is to use a complex combination of sugars and an acid to make a compound that has similar or identical properties to the o riginal chemicals. In the process of doing a chelate, the water is changed into acid.For example, you could use two different alcohols and sugar together in a solution to create a compound with similar properties to the original two compounds. You can make new solvents, liquids, solids, or gases, depending on the type of compound you are trying to make. One popular example of chelate chemistry is making hydroxyl acids. These are composed of one molecule of an acid and two molecules of a non-acid, such as an alcohol.In order to do a cheat, it is important to have a mixture of alcohols and sugars in a proper proportion, so you don't end up with a complex mixture of acids and bases. The alcohols and sugars would be separated by different types of buffers. They would be added to the hydroxyl acid mix, and it would be left to go through the same cycle as the original solution.For a more complex example, you could make complex compounds of sugars and acids. Instead of having two different types of acid, you could add other types of acids and sugars together to form a new compound. For example, the molecules would be made of diazons and oxazons instead of oxalates.Another complex example is acid-base chelate chemistry. The acids would be called primary, secondary, or tertiary, and the bases would be called hydroxy, hydro, or hydroxyl. These compounds have dissimilar properties and need to be treated differently, so they are separated in various ways.In order to do a cheat, you have to know what your mixture looks like before you add the chemicals to it. You have to know what reaction you want to have, what reactions work, and what reactions don't work. Also, you have to know what solvents you need to use to separate the materials, what the separation reactions look like, and what you need to do to set up the reaction to get the chemicals out of the mix. It is also possible to try out different chemical mixtures until you find the one that gives you the most desirable reaction.

Here, guitar instructor Zachary A. explains the phenomena of guitar feedback and how it can be manipulated to enhance your music An Example of Feedback The first thing that comes to mind when I think of guitar feedback is Jerry Garcia, the guitarist for the Grateful Dead. Creating a paralyzing shriek, he manipulates guitar feedback  in a wizardly fashion, pushing the boundaries of the electric guitar and his amps. Below is an example of Garcia  playing around with feedback. When you  think of feedback, youll likely remember  sitting in a class assembly as the person at the podium conducts their  speech, a loud shriek comes over the auditorium. This screech, which is referred to as feedback, happens mainly due to a sound loop that occurs between an audio input device (a guitar or microphone, for example) and an audio output device (an amp or speaker). What Causes Feedback? All thats needed for feedback to occur is the components of a basic public address system; a public address system consists of a microphone, amp, and speaker. Feedback happens when sound is amplified out of the speakers, then travels back through the microphone, and is amplified again, and then sent back through the speakers for a second time. This loop happens so fast that it creates its own frequency, which results in the infamous shrieking noise. Its one of the many guitar tones that you can produce. When musicians talk on the subject of feedback, the comments are mostly negative due to this howling sound thats produced in the middle of the song theyre trying to play. In addition to the dreaded sound loop, feedback occurs when the gain is too high in the output of an amplified instrument. As well as ways to minimize and control feedback, there are many ways to increase the chances that feedback occurs. One main point that needs to be reiterated is that feedback occurs in a system thats at a point of high gain and resonance. This can make it particularly challenging to control, but it can be accomplished. How to Prevent Guitar Feedback First, well discuss ways that you can reduce the chances of feedback happening. Then, well dive deeper into the ways of working magic with feedback. One major change you can make  to keep feedback down is by monitoring the amplified volume of your instrument in relation to the space that youre playing in. Another quick and painless way to reduce feedback is to change the position of your microphone and or speaker so that the speaker output isnt feeding directly into the microphone. Keep the speakers further forward, closer to the audience, then the microphones further back. Other ways to avoid the dreadful shriek are to use a directional microphone. Also, speak or sing close to the microphone; practically kissing the microphone. Also, turn off the microphone when its not in use, thus equalizing the signal and lowering the frequency. Another way is to lower the speaker output. There are devices you can purchase that can be connected in between the monitor and the amp in order to reduce the amount of audio frequency that occurs. How to Manipulate Guitar Feedback Feedback can be used as a very interesting tool for a musician, as we heard in the Jerry Garcia video. There are a few ways to increase your chances of feedback happening  so that you may utilize this technique. For example, use a higher gauge string they vibrate for a longer period of time  and require less feedback from the output to hold a note. Its just another way to transform your guitar sound. Another simple cosmetic change you can make to increase the amount of sustain and feedback your instrument produces is by making the guitar as rigid as possible. If you have a bolt-on neck, make sure the screws are tight or this will reduce the sustain of the strings. The old method to increase feedback was to connect a treble boost before the amplifier to overdrive it. Another cosmetic feedback enhancer that can be done is lowering the pickups to increase the distance between the pole pieces in the pickups and the strings. Although some people choose to raise the pickups to produce maximum drive to the amplifier, this will decrease the amount of feedback that may occur. Unfortunately, pole pieces are magnetic and close proximity to strings will dampen the vibrations. Now go out and create some scary horror movie sounds using feedback and get creative with it. 3 Habits that are Hurting Your SAT Prep If youre a high school upperclassman, you know that time is precious. Between homework, sports, part-time jobs, and spending time with friends, your schedule is pretty full. For juniors and seniors that plan on taking the SAT, it can be difficult to find time to study before the test. Taking time to prepare for the SAT is essential to doing well, but its the quality, not the quantity, of studying time that can truly make a difference in your score. With that in mind, here are three habits that are hurting your SAT prep. 1. Crash studying for the SAT Dont think that just because the material on the SAT is material you may have already learned that you will be able to ace the test after only a few study sessions. Cramming a week before the SAT is like participating in a triathlon without ever training. Crash studying not only is an ineffective way to learn and remember content, but can also hurt you when it comes to test time. Learning so much information in a short period of time can leave you anxious and forgetful the last things you need to feel on test day. Having a strict study schedule that you adhere to is key to maximizing the time you spend studying. Spacing out your studying over several months will ensure that you arent cramming the week before the test. Instead of spending eight hours a night the week before the SAT trying to memorize information, spread that time out over at least three months. Plan to set aside an hour a day at the beginning of your study schedule to ease into studying, then amp up the amount of time as the test nears. Although some of the content may seem familiar, you will need to familiarize yourself with content you may not have seen in years and give your brain ample time to recall it. If you are taking SAT practice tests before the actual exam, you are on the right track in your studying course. However, if practice tests are not taken correctly, you could be wasting your time. Do not take a practice test in your living room with the TV on, laying in bed, or in a location where you know there will be distractions. Your goal is to prepare yourself for the same environment that you will be in when you take the real test. Create a good study environment, with a quiet, comfortable space and a desk. When you walk in to take the SAT, you want it to feel familiar. Simulating a practice test also means adhering to the rules that you will have to follow when taking the actual test. Do not use any tools to practice that you will not be able to use on the test. Furthermore, do not break up the test into sections over days or take longer breaks than you will be allowed on test day. Training your brain to focus throughout the whole test is vital to succeeding on the SAT. 3. Focusing on the what and not the why Getting the correct answer is of course the goal when taking the SAT. However, when studying for the test, the answer isnt the only thing that matters. After a practice test, it is important to look back at your incorrect answers and figure out why your answer was wrong, and why the correct answer was right. Each practice test and problem should be a learning experience, whether you originally got the answer right or wrong. The questions you see on practice tests will not be duplicated verbatim on the actual test, so memorizing an answer will only waste your time. Instead, focus on the type of mistake you made, and find out how to avoid making that type of mistake in the future. Similar questions will likely stump you on the actual test if they fooled you on the practice test, so focus on where your line of thinking went wrong. Ensuring that the time you spend studying for the SAT is spent in the correct way will determine your success come test day. Improper studying techniques can waste time and set back your studying schedule ultimately hurting your score on test day. Avoid these habits that are hurting your SAT prep, and you can maximize the quality of your studying.
